★ City: Detroit - Michigan's largest city. After the bankruptcy of General Motors in 2009, the economy has worsened, the population has been falling, and is on the verge of declining.
★ Venue: Masonic Temple - Baroque-style building with 4,500 seats and a maze-like form.

Total audience: 3,700

The Christmas Cantata has come to the hearts of Detroit citizens, the City of Darkness, which has lost hopes of life due to the fall of the automobile industry.

Throughout the show, the fervent response of the 3,700 spectators who filled the concert hall of Masonic Temple continued. Even after the preparations were over and the show closed, the citizens could not return home for a while, hoping for more.

"It was a very happy performance. Everything from the first scene of the birth of Jesus, the second act scene where Anna is loved by family members, and the third stage chorus. This is the seventh time I'm attending the Cantata and now it is an annual event." (Susan Moore)

Pastor Ock Soo Park, the founder of the Choir, appeared on the TCT program, a Christian channel dedicated to Detroit, and conveyed the meaning of Christmas to the citizens who could not come to the Cantata.

Christmas Cantata illuminates Detroit, a city in darkness and despair.
